I’m Jimmie Garcia, your candidate for Texas House District 39. As your next representative, I’ll fight hard for you and for all of District 39 by creating legislation that follows your values, your beliefs, and your needs. By working with the lawmakers in Austin and citizens here in the Valley, I know we can make our community safer and more prosperous for all of our families.
Property Tax Reform
Even with the recent measures to curb skyrocketing property taxes, there is still much to be done to put Texans first. We need to continue to work to ensure that Texans aren’t taxed out of their homes, starting with tackling county appraisal districts head on. At the state level, we are passing property tax cuts, now we need to fight to stop county appraisal districts from raising the value of homes for their revenue benefit.

Texas continues to be a beacon of prosperity in our country. As a pro-business state, Texas welcomes new businesses from all over the US to plant their roots here. New business brings in new opportunities for jobs to be created across the state, especially The Valley. It is time for South Texas to thrive.

Secure Our Border
It’s not right for politicians to offer our hard-earned tax dollars to people from other nations, especially when many in South Texas are struggling to make it day-to-day. The Federal Government refuses to address the issue at the border. Jimmie will work with Governor Abbott so Operation Lonestar can continue to be successful securing the border.

Support Law Enforcement
Everything we’re fighting for won’t matter if we’re not safe in our own neighborhoods. The men and women of law enforcement are dedicated to protecting this community, but for them to do their job, they need our support. Jimmie believes we need to be funding the police rather than trying to defund them.

Invest in Education
The greatest priority of all parents is the future of their children. While we work to shape the world they’ll inherit, we must give them the tools they’ll need to succeed in that world. To achieve this, we need to overhaul how Texas deals with education. Instead of having state funding tied to the schools, we need to empower students and their parents to make decisions that are best for their families.

This district needs a representative who truly serves the people, putting their needs above his own. A dedicated public servant doesn’t get rich from the job. Instead, a true servant leader will use his or her position to fight for what is right for the families of this community.
